If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
I am in the fortunate positon to have a lady helping me twice a week. She keeps my home clean and does the washing and ironing. What a blessing, I would hate to have to do these chores.
If you were to move and your home came fully furnished with everything you ever wanted, list at least three things from your old house you wish to retain?
I would keep two paintings of Xhosa woman that a friend’s mom painted. They are beautiful and I have treasured them for over 25 years.
I have beautiful hand carved wooden dish that I bought from a man in Zimbabwe. He didn’t want money, he wanted men’s clothes. Unfortunately, being a bunch of girls, we didn’t have anything for him and money passed hands instead. However, I gave him my scarf as a gift for this wife, the smile on his face was priceless. For me, this is one of my most precious possessions.
It’s filled it with seed pods, porcupine quills, dry grasses collected while in the bush. The most unusual item is a dry starfish found on the beach.
I would keep my book ‘Threatened Kingdom – The Story of the Mountain Gorilla. I bought this book after trekking the Gorillas in Rwanda. What makes is so precious is that the guides and trackers wrote messages on the inside cover.
What calms you down? A good sleep.

I’ve been so busy not had time to contemplate my blessings. Maybe at this stage, I appreciate my job. The unemployment in South Africa is sitting at a staggering 27% and increases each year.
