Thank you Cee for Share Your World – had fun thinking of my answers.

This is the first time I am making a contribution, am sure it won’t be my last.  Hopefully as I go along I will meet more and more amazing bloggers. Here goes …

What do you consider is the most perfect food for you?

My perfect food is a picnic.  A selection of cheeses, fresh bread, pate, preserved ginger, strawberries served with ice cold Chardonnay wine is absolutely perfect.

I know this is not healthy for the body, but most certainly healthy for the soul.

One of my most memorable picnics was on the banks of the River Seine in Paris.  We had bought some lovely fresh food from a local market and found a tiny park where we spent the afternoon lazing the day away.

Are you focused on today or tomorrow?

I try to live with mindfulness, so guess am focused on today, or even the ‘now’.  This does not mean I don’t plan for tomorrow.

If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be and what would you ask?

I would love to have had the opportunity of interviewing my grandfather or his father.  We called my grandfather Papa, his name was Henry James Daly.  No one knew much of his background and he never spoke of it.  He came from Ireland to South Africa as a widow having lost his wife when she gave birth to twins – they also died.

He subsequently married my grandmother who had twins and my father was one of them.  Until his death none of us knew details of his background – was and still is a family mystery.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

This past week I appreciated the wonderful rain we have experienced.  South Africa is a dry country and we often suffer terrible droughts.

When it rains I celebrate.

    Thankyou Cheryl,

I often wonder about dad’s dad, I never knew him, did not know that he was married before he was married to Nanna our grandmother, I really miss her, I loved her very much,I always spent my days off from work, and catch a train to Durban and take Nanna to the movies and to lunch, I always enjoys those days with her, it would be nice if we knew more.

    Thankyou for sharing.

    Love from your sister Rosalyn
