The massive pyramids of Giza are impressive and deserve to be on our bucket list. It never was on mine, but when we went on a diving trip to the Red Sea we spent two days in Cairo.

I was in awe of this ancient world wonder and had to pinch myself to believe I was really there.   Standing in front of the Great Sphinx was also amazing. This huge statue with the body of a lion and head of a human is overpowering. Apparently it is the oldest monumental sculpture in Egypt, built around 2588-2532 BC.  A mighty long time ago.

Make sure you take a camel ride while you are there. These creatures are not the friendliest and in my opinion, have bad manners but it was great fun.
